Mosaic Gospel Choir is a lively, welcoming, interfaith singing group that brings together people from all walks of life to harmonize joyfully. Based in the Boulder Colorado area, we perform a mix of upbeat gospel and contemporary music, creating a fun and inclusive community for everyone who loves to sing. Gospel music using original, generally traditional lyrics, are most commonly sung. We encourage use of individuals’ preferred pronouns and names.
Returning as Choir Director in September 2026 is the exceptionally talented Dr. Michael Williams. He is widely respected as a musician, composer, producer, pastor, and mentor whose uplifting music and lifelong commitment to the community have touched countless lives.
At just 16 years old, Dr. Williams recorded his first CD alongside Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind and Fire. Decades later, he continues to captivate Denver audiences with his powerful performances and musical leadership. Over the years, he has shared the stage with renowned entertainers including Josh Groban, Yolanda Adams, and Sinbad — but prefers to play for his community and teach up-and-coming artists. His discography features inspiring gospel favorites such as “He’s Able,” “I Still Have a Testimony,” “He Specializes” (featuring Shandra Duncan), and “Message From Dad.”
Last year the Choir was very ably led by Allison Keller. She has stepped down from the position as Choir Director to become the MGC Board Chair. Thank you Allison for all you did and continue to do for the Choir.
We rehearse 7-8:30 pm Mondays. The new spring semester will start September 7, 2025 at the Boulder Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Lafayette CO.
We hold performances twice a semester. Membership dues help cover rehearsal space, performance musicians, and director's fees. Financial assistance is available to those who need it, so please ask!
Founded in January of 2009 by Rev. Roger Wolsey at Wesley Chapel at CU Boulder, local funk/soul singer Chantel Mead served as our first director. Gary Grundei took over in 2010 and was assisted by Rev. Dr. David Sharp. They were followed by the amazing Dr. Michael Williams and Allison Keller. 17 years and going strong.
